Doesn't appear to be possible with iDrive except for perhaps using tar to create a tar archive of the relevant dirs and then backup the tar file. I'm still trying to see if there is a better long term backup solution where owner perms are preserved. One caveat, idrive does not preserve owner permissions so these files should only be restored with great care and consideration on a file by file basis. On the netgear readynas Its found here: /apps/idrive/web/idriveIt/user_profile//Backup/Default\ Backup\ Set/BackupsetFileForDisplay.txt However I did find the configuration file where the default backupset is stored and it appears I can manually add those using the command line. The web client that is provided to use with the netgear Readynas does not provide a way to add those folders, it only displays "shared volumes" within the readynas universe. I am trying to figure out the best way to backup system files such as /etc.
